KYIV, Ukraine — President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a pivotal meeting with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, during which he expressed his gratitude for the UNHCR's unwavering support of Ukraine.

We appreciate today's announcement of a new UNHCR assistance package worth USD 100 million to prepare Ukraine for the winter. Considering the constant shelling of energy facilities, this is very important assistance," Zelenskyy stated. The President emphasized the pressing need for additional aid to restore destroyed housing and create shelters in schools and hospitals, facilitating the return of Ukrainians to their homes. This is my fifth visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Grandi remarked, reflecting on his continued commitment to the nation.

During his visits, Grandi aims to provide firsthand insights to donors about the situation in Ukraine, encouraging them to maintain financial support. He disclosed that he had already visited several districts in Kyiv bombed last week, as well as the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital. Both Zelenskyy and Grandi commended the launch of the new information portal, "Ukraine is Home." Supported by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, this portal will offer essential information for Ukrainians planning their return.
