President Zelenskyy Oversees Swearing-In of New Judges

Kyiv, Ukraine - In a significant move to fortify the judicial system, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presided over the swearing-in ceremony of 248 newly appointed judges. The ceremony saw 208 judges of general local courts, 22 judges of administrative courts, and 18 judges of commercial courts take their oaths of office.

    During the event, President Zelenskyy underscored the critical role of the judiciary in strengthening state institutions and defending the nation. "Ukraine’s success and the unity of our society depend on everyone, especially judges," he stated. "People expect efficiency in your work, the ability to understand social needs correctly, and to apply the Constitution and laws of Ukraine in such a way that law and order and human rights in Ukraine are upheld, and if necessary, restored. The President expressed his hopes that every decision made by the judges "in the name of Ukraine" would enhance respect for both the courts and the nation. His remarks highlighted the essential contribution of the judiciary to the country's stability and democratic integrity. The ceremony marks a pivotal step in Ukraine's ongoing efforts to bolster its judicial framework amid challenging times.
