President Zelenskyy Meets with U.S. House Delegation

KYIV, Ukraine - President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a pivotal meeting with a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives, led by Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Mike Turner. The delegation included Representatives Betty McCollum, John Joyce, Ronny Jackson, and Tony Gonzales. During the meeting, President Zelenskyy expressed profound gratitude to U.S. President Joseph Biden, both chambers of Congress, and the American people for their steadfast support of Ukraine.

    We see the determination of the U.S. Congress in stepping up support for Ukraine and we are grateful for it. The allocation of macro-financial aid to Ukraine by the Congress significantly strengthens our economy and the Armed Forces," Zelenskyy stated. The President provided an update on the situation at the front line and outlined the urgent needs of Ukraine's Defense Forces. The discussions with the U.S. representatives focused on crucial areas of continued U.S. assistance, particularly the provision of additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles.

    Patriot systems help us save lives and protect infrastructure. We are counting on additional deliveries of these systems in the near future," Zelenskyy noted. Additionally, President Zelenskyy highlighted the participation of the United States in the upcoming Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and underscored the importance of collective efforts to rally international support for the Summit's final communique. The meeting also covered strategies to intensify sanctions on Russia. Zelenskyy emphasized the critical role of the U.S. Congress in establishing the legal framework to utilize frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's needs. This meeting marks a continued strengthening of U.S.-Ukraine relations, showcasing the united front against aggression and the commitment to peace and stability in the region.
