Raleigh, NC — President Biden took the stage in North Carolina yesterday, addressing a spirited crowd with a message of unity, progress, and determination to win the state in the upcoming November election.
I’m here in North Carolina for one reason: Because I intend to win this state in November, Biden declared, receiving enthusiastic applause and chants of “Four more years!” from the audience. Biden was introduced by Eric, a local supporter, who praised the President for his dedication and vision. Biden also acknowledged the warm reception and his enjoyable time spent with Eric’s sons, Christian and Carter. The President expressed his gratitude to Governor Roy Cooper and his wife, Kristin, applauding Roy’s tenure and endorsing Josh Stein as the next governor. He hinted at potentially bringing Cooper to Washington for his administration, should he be reelected. Biden’s speech covered a range of critical issues, emphasizing the importance of standing up for women’s rights, voting rights, and healthcare. He reiterated his commitment to restoring Roe v. Wade, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and reducing prescription drug costs. We’re going to keep protecting the Affordable Care Act, he said, noting the impact it has had on millions of Americans. Addressing the issue of gun violence, Biden stressed the need to remove weapons of war from the streets and to ensure clean drinking water, affordable high-speed internet, and quality education for every child in America. He also underscored his administration’s efforts to secure the border and protect legal immigration.
In a direct challenge to his likely opponent, former President Donald Trump, Biden criticized Trump’s record and character, particularly his handling of the economy and the COVID-19 pandemic. “Did you see Trump last night?” Biden asked, referencing the recent debate. “He lied about the great economy he created. He lied about the pandemic he botched, killing millions of people. Biden also took Trump to task for his treatment of veterans, his stance on crime, and his handling of the January 6th insurrection.
We all saw with our own eyes. We watched it on television, Biden said, recalling the Capitol attack. He condemned Trump’s refusal to accept the 2020 election results and warned of the consequences of his rhetoric. The President highlighted his administration’s achievements, including creating 15 million new jobs, reducing inflation, and fostering economic growth. “Today, we have the strongest economy in the world without exception,” he stated, emphasizing the contrast between his administration and Trump’s presidency. In closing, Biden acknowledged his age but reassured the crowd of his capability and commitment. “I know what it’ll take to bring this economy to everybody. I know what it’ll take to rally the world to stand up against Putin and defend freedom, he affirmed. Biden’s rally in North Carolina was a powerful call to action, urging voters to support him in the upcoming election to protect democracy and continue the progress made under his administration. “We are the United States of America, he concluded, “And there is nothing, nothing beyond our capacity nothing when we act together.
