Salt Lake City, Utah - President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska met with leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose members constitute the majority of Utah's population. During the meeting, President Zelenskyy highlighted the devastating impact of Russian aggression on Ukraine's spiritual and religious life, citing the destruction of 170 religious organizations and damage to hundreds more.

Elder Quentin L. Cook emphasized the longstanding humanitarian efforts of the LDS Church in Ukraine, noting that volunteers have been actively engaged since 1994. He mentioned the Church's assistance to victims of the recent July 8 attack on Okhmatdyt and other facilities in Kyiv, as well as ongoing support during previous Russian shelling. President Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to the LDS community for their active volunteer work and prayers. He underscored the need for continued humanitarian aid, the construction of housing for displaced persons, and the establishment of shelters in public areas.
