Zelenskyy Holds Strategic Meeting in Kyiv

    In a pivotal diplomatic meeting in Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen. The discussions, held during Čmilytė-Nielsen's visit to Ukraine, underscored the deepening ties and shared strategic interests between the two nations.

    President Zelenskyy extended heartfelt gratitude to Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, the Lithuanian Government, the Seimas, and Čmilytė-Nielsen personally, as well as to the Lithuanian people for their unwavering support and leadership in backing Ukraine amidst its ongoing struggle against Russian aggression. I am grateful to the Seimas for its significant political support and, of course, for the military and humanitarian assistance provided by Lithuania, as well as for its participation in the implementation of the Peace Formula," Zelenskyy remarked. His statement highlighted Lithuania’s vital role in providing both practical and moral support to Ukraine. The meeting between Zelenskyy and Čmilytė-Nielsen focused on the critical needs for bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities. This dialogue is particularly crucial as Ukraine continues to face severe security challenges on its eastern front.

Both leaders reflected on the outcomes of the first Global Peace Summit held in Switzerland, noting the significant involvement of international partners. President Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of this broad-based international support and outlined future steps to secure a sustainable and just peace in Ukraine. Additionally, the discussions covered the coordination of efforts for Ukraine's integration into the European Union and NATO. This aspect of their talks is a testament to Ukraine's ongoing commitment to aligning itself more closely with Western institutions and values.
