Hezbollah Escalates Attacks on Israel
By Charles Hawes, Capital News
Tel Aviv, Israel - Lebanon's Hezbollah has intensified its attacks on Israel, launching over 5,000 rockets, anti-tank missiles, and explosive UAVs since joining the conflict initiated by Hamas on October 7th. This escalation has targeted Israeli families, homes, and communities, bringing the region to the brink of a broader and potentially more devastating war. Hezbollah's increasing aggression jeopardizes Lebanon's future, acting as a shield for Hamas. Hamas, responsible for the October 7th massacre, which involved the murder of the elderly, the rape of women, the burning of children, and the kidnapping of Jews, Muslims, and Christians, has found an ally in Hezbollah. The consequences for Lebanon and the entire region could be severe if this aggression continues.
Israel remains resolute in preventing another October 7th incident from occurring on any of its borders. The refusal of Hezbollah to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which mandates the disarmament of Hezbollah and the establishment of a weapons-free zone south of the Litani River, has forced Israel to take measures to protect its civilians. Lebanon's failure to enforce this resolution has further complicated the situation. Israel has made it clear that the safe and secure return of its citizens to their homes in Northern Israel is non-negotiable. The nation will take all necessary steps to restore security along its border with Lebanon, ensuring the protection of its people.
The ongoing conflict highlights the broader issue of Iran's influence in the region. Iran’s terror proxies, including Hezbollah, continue to drag the Middle East towards destruction. Israel remains committed to fighting against what it calls Iran’s "axis of evil" on all fronts, whether in Gaza or Lebanon, in pursuit of a more secure future for the region. The events of October 7th serve as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance. Israel's duty to defend its people is paramount, and it has vowed to fulfill this duty at all costs, ensuring that such a tragedy does not recur on any of its borders.
